About MessiahKids

Children are important to Jesus, and therefore important to us! We value children participating in worship and observing their parents and other adults sing, pray and listen to God’s Word. We encourage the children to partake in worship at the beginning and end of the service (they are also welcome to stay for the entire service). During the sermon, we have two MessiahKids! classes for age groups 2-4 and 5-11 using the God’s Big Story (GBS) curriculum.

God’s Big Story

God's Big Story (GBS) invites children to discover the story of God's abounding faithfulness and love for all of his children. Our aim is that children and their teachers might hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and experience the fullness of new life in Christ as part of His body, the church. The curriculum is rooted in the astounding truth that God has come to rescue his children from their sins through his Son Jesus the Messiah.

GBS explores the biblical narrative from creation and the fall to Jesus' sacrificial victory on the cross to the promise of a new heaven and earth. GBS is taught in the context of worship through liturgy, song, scripture memory, story presentation, wondering questions, catechesis (teaching of doctrine and the faith), prayer, and many reflective and creative responses geared to a variety of age groups.
